The club would like to pass on its deepest condolances to the Walsh family on the passing of Phil Walsh. Phil was a member of the club for many years and from playing to serving as Chairman was involved in every part of the club throughout his years with the club. Phil also played minor for Kilkenny in 1956 & 1957 and also won a Leinster Junior medal with Kilkenny in 1959. He hurled senior for Kilkenny in a team that included the likes of Pa Dillion, Ollie Walsh, Seamie Cleere and Eddie Keher. He played in Wembley Stadium when Kilkenny played Waterford in which 30000 people attended. He scored 3-2 that day. Phil was a selector with the Kilkenny Intermediate team during his time as well. Phil will be lying in repose at his home from 2pm today friday the 6th of May till 8pm tonight. Removal will be on Saturday the 7th to Paulstown church for 2pm mass with burial afterwards.
The club will be doing a guard of honour from Medlers to the church and afterwards from church to the Graveyard
