The Under 13s dug deep at Jenkinstown on Saturday 25th, beating the home team by two points to reach the county Final.

Barrow Rangers traded a few scores with their hosts, before a strong Conahy team took control with a flurry of goals in the first half. The boys in blue and white kept pushing, and replied with a few well taken points to stay within striking distance. At the turnaround at half time, Barrow Rangers came out fired up, and quickly took control of the contest. Following some excellent scores from play and frees, a well taken goal brought the sides level, and Barrow Rangers never looked back.

Its a testament to this team that they kept their opponents scoreless in the second half, and defended for their lives to the final whistle, much to the delight of the travelling supporters. The team were a credit to their manager, selectors and mentors, who deserve a particular word of thanks for their game and player management.

All eyes are on the second semi final, but there should be no fear in these young players who have proved themselves over and over again this season.
