Barow Rangers hosted out first competitive inter county match on the new pitch on Saturday with Kilkenny hosting Dublin in glorious sunshine.

In a lively affair, both teams offered some excellent play with incredible scoring and fierce tackling.  Kilkenny took control at the right time, pushing on to win.

It's fair to say that out new pitch looked fantastic and offered the players a perfect playing surface. Our other new facilities, the access road and car park were tested and thanks to the volunteers standing by to guide traffic along, it was an excellent test run for what's to come. The Dublin management team were greatly impressed and are eyeing it up for some club challenges in the years to come!

Importantly, we were able to keep the road in front of the hall clear.

It's a great testament to everyone who has worked so hard to bring this to bear.  In particular, our field committee have delivered something special that will last for generations. Thank you for the hard work, and thank you to those who have supported us.

Next up is an intermediate match between St Martin's and Black's and Whites on Sunday at 12pm.  Any help with stewarding and traffic management is greatly appreciated.
